The Island
The Island' is an audiovisual performance inspired by the tragic stories of islands and valleys condemned by hydraulic dams. Those - of Naussac, in Lozere - of Valentin Rasputin's novel: "Farewell to the Island" in Siberia - of the Three Gorges Dam in China...
The 8th collaboration of the duo submerges in a telluric experience of images and sounds. Incisive musical composition and reality-bending video unfolds a “mental journey” through a topography of places in mutation. Without being narrative, 'The Island' questions questions the replacement of one world by another and our blind belief in progress.
