Introduction
Welcome to our workshop on using artificial intelligence (AI) for creativity. In this workshop, we will be exploring the various ways in which AI can be used to enhance creative works.
We will begin by providing an overview of the multiple applications of AI in the creative field, including the use of machine learning algorithms for music composition, video, 3D modeling, and visual arts.
Next, we will delve deeper into a specific application of AI for creativity: text-to-image models. These models use machine learning algorithms to translate text descriptions into images, allowing us to use language as a medium for artistic expression. We will walk you through the process of using these models to create your own digital artwork and discuss ways to translate the resulting digital art into physical form.
The final part of the workshop will take place at IMAL's fablab. We will explore methods for translating digital artworks into physical forms. This includes techniques such as printing, laser cutting, and utilizing 3D printing to create sculptures based on digital designs.
Throughout the workshop, you will have the opportunity to experiment with different AI tools and techniques and to share your creations with the group. Our goal is to help you discover the potential of AI as a creative tool and to inspire you to continue exploring this exciting field.
Requirements
Participants must attend the workshop with their laptop
Biography
Siméon Michel is an AI researcher at FARI AI for the Common Good Institute. He is currently involved in setting up a Test and Experience Center, which aims to provide a space for citizens, researchers, and institutions to experiment with and learn about the latest developments in AI-powered tools and technologies.
With a background in computer science and a passion for the intersection of technology and the arts, Siméon is dedicated to finding new and innovative ways to use artificial intelligence to enhance creativity in the artistic field.
Lluc Bono Rosselló is a PhD student at the IRIDIA Artificial Intelligence Lab of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and the FARI AI for the Common Good Institute. His research focuses on the analysis of music from a network science perspective and the use of artificial intelligence to generate polyphonic music. Lluc is particularly interested in finding ways to create music through the simulation of social interactions and how simple rules can lead to the emergence of complex music.
