After renovation works from 2018 until 2020 we re-opened our venue on March 5th 2020. Our renewed centre includes a large exhibition space, an expanded state-of-the-art Fablab, a digital library, a place where our residents can work, a foyer for performances/talks, and a multifunctional space for all kinds of activities.

The renovation and extension of our infrastructure was supported by Europe as part of the ERDF-programme of the Brussels Capital Region. Within this framework nearly €2.8 million was invested in CASTII/iMAL. 50% of this amount was provided by the European authorities and the other 50% was provided by the region. The goal of this project was to reinforce the social cohesion and promote art and culture along the canal zone.

The architects Central Office (Brussels) and NP2F (Paris) were put in charge of the renovation after a selection procedure by the Brusselse Bouwmeester in 2016.
