Residency and performance by Lucille Calmel & Gaëtan Rusquet

Following the creation of based on an almost true story. at the European performance festival Trouble taking place at the Halls of Schaerbeek (Brussels) in April 2013, Lucille Calmel and Gaëtan Rusquet will present the second season of the project wherein different aspect have been adapted into residencies, performances, exhibitions, publications, workshops… at iMAL, 102 (Grenoble), the ladybug festival at the Lavoir Public (Lyon),  Pixxelpoint / Centre Culturel de Nova Gorica (Slovenia), l'Ecole Supérieure d'Art d'Avignon / Gaîté Lyrique (Paris), Maison particulière (Brussels)…  

In this new version of the project, we will encounter two opposite zones: a COMFORT ZONE where we will look at lolcats, internet's super-star cats; and its antagonist, the WAR ZONE where Lucille Calmel and Gaëtan Rusquet will perform the based on an almost true story. performance. 

After their short residency at iMAL, Lucille and Gaëtan invite you for a projection of lolcats videos starting at 16:00 and a public event/presentation at iMAL on 3 March, starting at 19:00.

About Lucille Calmel

LUCILLE CALMEL is a performer, stage director, writer, and digital artist. She has lived in Montpellier where she directed an experimental theater company and an artistic research and residency venue. Since her arrival in Brussels in 2005, she is also developping collaborations, laboratories and curating. Live writing researcher from the theater/musical stages to the Internet/computer screen stages, she explores the performative dimensions between sound, corporality and textuality.
Since 1990, her work has been presented in many festivals and venues: Trouble, iMAL, Cimatics, La Bellone, CECN, Krikri, Marathon des Mots, Pink Screens, Maison des auteurs, HS63, PointCulture... About Gaëtan Rusquet

GAËTAN RUSQUET is currently working as a performer, an interpret, a collaborator or project leader, in the field of performance, dance and visual arts. After studing Applied Arts at L'ENSAAMA (Paris), he graduated a Master in stage design and performance at l'ENSAV La Cambre. Through his proposals, he is working on the body and the necessity of movement or action linked to a medium, in order to share an experience with the audience. His work has been presented in various European festivals and venues, as Trouble festival at Les Halles de Schaerbeek, Impulstanz (Austria), MDT (Sweden), Theater AvantGarden (Norway), Accionmad (Spain), FRAC Lorraine (France), Kaaitheater...
